We went to a Memorial Day parade in the town next to ours. It was actually a really good parade! I thought this picture was fitting given today is Memorial Day!

Today I went to the New Britain Museum of Art with my friend Joan. This is a small portion of a display of 20,000 plastic cups. When you get close you can see that each of the plastic cups is actually clear and painted! It took the artist 2 weeks, working round the clock, with the help of 3 others to complete it.

It was Family Math night tonight in our town! It was run by high school students and teachers along with some from the elementary schools, too! There were about 30 different stations where you could solve math problems, do math/science experiments (one fun one was figuring out how many teaspoons of salt it would take to make a hard-bolied egg float-it took Tucker seven!) Here Tucker solves a number puzzle-they had three: numbers 1-100, numbers 10-1000 (by 10s), and this one starting with .01. He whipped through the first two, this one took him a little longer but he got it!

Today we took advantage of a free child identification program sponsored by our town. Tucker was fingerprinted, they did his height (49 in.) and his weight (56 lbs), a dental impression, a DNA swab, and a short video clip of him answering questions. It was quite thorough and I hope we never have to use it. But it's good to know we have it if we do need it.

In between the raindrops today, we went for a hike in a park in the next town over. It used to be a dairy farm back in the 1900s and the town acquired it and has recently made hiking trails, a dog park, and they're raising money for a play scape. We went on one of the trails and found this old farm machinery in the woods!
