March 13

It was a beautiful day today and as I drove around looking for a spot of sunshine to park and eat my grinder, I came upon this. This is the Gold Star Bridge, which connects New London to Groton across the Thames River. (It was named for the Gold Stars people hung in their windows during WWII to show a family member serving in the war had been killed). This is the view from New London down by the river itself and I like that you can see the railroad trellis. Those two columns lift the railroad span so that boats can go underneath. I just thought it made a neat picture.

  1. I like this. I also enjoyed the little history lesson that went with it!
